Together, we’ll explore your style and embrace it through a range of textures, colours, and materials before weaving them into your home. DESIGN PROCESS

Every project we undertake is uniquely tailored to your needs and dreams. Our commitment to our five-stage design process ensures every space receives a design plan that is considered, personal and results in a home like no other.

STAGE 1 — DISCOVERY & CONCEPT

Together, we’ll delve into your style cues, lifestyle, and goals for your home. From here we can outline any floor plan improvements, as well as the scope of work and budget.

Next, we curate a design mood board of visual references specific to you and the home you're dreaming of. You’ll be able to discuss this board with the team alongside the initial floor or sketch plans.

STAGE 2 — DETAILED DESIGN

After making sure you love the creative concept, we begin to refine. Together, we’ll explore materials and finishes suited to your taste, lifestyle and budget and develop highly detailed floorplans, elevations, electrical and lighting plans and more. You’ll also get to see what the finished space will look like through photorealistic 3D renders of your proposed home.

STAGE 3 — DOCUMENTATION

It’s time to combine all the detailed specifications, building plans and your catalogue of fittings and fixtures together to provide a complete set of documentation that a builder can accurately quote and build to. This is a critical step in the renovation process to ensure quality construction. Providing builders with this level of detailed design will prevent expensive build variations, and a time intensive, stressful build process.

STAGE 4 — CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT

The home you’ve dreamt of is underway. We’ll meet builders with you on-site at key construction stages to ensure the integrity of the design is upheld. We will also support with stone selection, tile placements and the many other decisions required within the construction stage. Uniquely, we also provide budget management support and advice throughout this process – making sure the project is as stress-free as possible.

STAGE 5 — FURNITURE & STYLING

It’s time for the finishing touches and our furniture and styling specialists are here to help you select furniture, soft furnishings, art and window treatment plans for your entire home. Through our extensive experience and meticulous furniture floor plans, we ensure the final selections for your home perfectly fit the space and design intent of the room. We will also source unique and bespoke pieces for your home and manage the delivery and installation – so you can walk right into a finished home.

HOME BY BELLE started as one woman's vision, but today we’ve grown into an 15 employee strong multidisciplinary team that can bring you everything you need to create your dream home.

SARAH COMERFORD
Founder and CEO

Sarah has always loved the built form and she’s forever inspired by designs that embrace both beauty and practicality. Before establishing HOME BY BELLE in 2013, Sarah spent 10 years gathering hands-on experience in construction by successfully renovating and selling 16 luxury homes. This developed both the design sensibilities and disciplined processes she's known for.
Today, she uses this knowledge to provide clients with support, advice and expertise throughout their whole journey. She prides herself on being able to stand by a client’s side during every step of the project whether they need a sounding board or a compliance officer. Sarah strives to create spaces that reflect what you love, and your lifestyle – imbuing them with luxury finishes and comforts. So each day, you can come home to a space that brings you joy.

ERICA GEORGIS
Design Director

Erica is a multi-disciplinary interior designer who has worked in everything from commercial to residential, mastering her craft in both interior and architecture studios. Through her broad range of experiences, she’s developed a strong appreciation for the built form and weaving beauty and functionality together – inside and out. Her sophisticated creative direction and considered eye for detail are here to make sure a client’s home is everything they dreamed of.

KATE DAVIES
Senior Interior Designer

After completing a Bachelor of Arts, Kate started her career in Graphic Design, mastering the art of composition, layering and colour discipline.
Unfulfilled designing in 2D forms, she retrained in Interior Design and started renovating homes in London in her 20s, before returning to Australia to join a prominent architectural firm. Here she contributed to the realisation of large-scale retail projects and hospitality spaces, before transitioning to Westfield’s in-house design team. Chances are you’ve already enjoyed being in a space Kate has designed.
But her passion for craftmanship, materiality and intimate detailing drew her back to residential design, joining the HBB team as a Senior Interior Designer in 2023.
Kate’s design approach honours the simplicity of design, palette and materiality. She strives for authenticity in every project, creating functional spaces that are sophisticated, inviting and warm.
As a Mum to two beautiful girls, she understands too well the bustle of family life so when she does find some down time, she’ll spend it finding her inner zen – Pilates, walking or reading a good book with a glass of red in hand.

CLARE BURNETT
Marketing Director

After many years polishing her skills in marketing amongst some of Australia’s most illustrious brands, Clare joined us to level up our presence. She discovered an affinity for interior design while helping family and friends style their own homes. Today, within the inspiring walls of our studio, she combines her marketing skills and love for interior design to make our expertise and projects known.

KATE PULSFORD
Senior Interior Designer

Kate joined HBB as a Senior Interior Designer in 2023 and brings a wealth of expertise cultivated in esteemed high-end residential design studios in Sydney’s East.
With a background rooted in Sydney's design scene, she's honed her skills in resolving functionality and design challenges. Kate feels incredibly lucky to work in a field she loves so much. It brings her immense joy interpreting clients briefs then delivering solutions to help clients realise the home of their dreams.
Building deep, collaborative relationships is a cornerstone of Kate's approach. By understanding her clients on a personal level, she crafts spaces that are deeply intimate.
Kate is a busy Mum of two teenagers. When she’s not conjuring design magic, you’ll find her at the beach, the local pilates studio, tackling a round of golf or engrossed in the pages of the latest design book.

BRIGID O’LEARY
General Manager

Brigid spent years in corporate life before following her passion, and diving into something more creative. Inspired by colours and the beauty of nature, she undertook floristry and design courses before joining the HOME by Belle team – and thanks to it, she has a deep understanding of the power of colour, layering and its ability to shift moods of a space. As a previous buyer and product manager, Brigid has a natural eye for trends and team management. She uses these skills to keep our team running smoothly.
