How to create a luxe look on a tight budget

The client of this small bungalow-style house had a very specific look in mind and had been sourcing inspiration from Pinterest for a long time!  The bathroom needed to reflect the character of the house, but they were after something with a bit of a twist.

Hexagon shaped floor tiles were chosen instead of standard rectangle look for something unique, and the black tap ware and fittings were chosen to offset the white walls.  The timber vanity adds warmth to the room and created a luxe look.

The size of the room and the budget were the main challenges with this project. The bathroom was very tiny so when the layout changed, everything had to be correct to the millimetre. More space could have been created by removing the bath however the client insisted on keeping it so HOME by belle came up with a way to fit it all in.

The project had a strict budget but the client wanted an amazing bathroom that felt expensive.  This was achieved by using big white tiles on three walls and a smaller subway feature tile on the other wall.  This meant the overall cost per sqm for tiling was a lot cheaper (using big white tiles).

To further shave costs without sacrificing a luxe look, a semi-frameless shower screen was used instead of a full frameless one.

Tip:  Significant savings can be made by using big format tiles, reducing the cost per sqm.  Glass is also expensive so consider a semi-frameless shower screen instead of full size to keep costs under control.
